There isn't a speck of dust or dirt of any kind on the mirror, despite the sand and cold. The golden frame gleams as if freshly polished, and the glass reflects the light of the setting sun back into your eyes. Despite the immaculate condition of the mirror, however, you cannot see your reflection.
In the mirror, you can see what looks like figures moving, although you find yourself alone. The closer you look, the blurrier the figures get.
Until you get too close. They stop. They stare. They can see you.
