About Me
My name is Angelisse Torres, Angie for short, and I am currently a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Muscial Theater. I grew up in Caguas, Puerto Rico, before moving to Colorado at the age of 12. Through such a difficult move, art was something that kept me grounded and connected to myself even when I felt like everything I knew was being uprooted. I’ve been drawing for around nine years, digitally for about six. All the art I create is mostly recreational, just whenever I feel particularly inspired by something. It’s always been my way of connecting with the world around me and appreciating the things that make me happy. I’ve always said about my art that as long as making it makes me happy and I always continue to improve, nothing else matters, because this is one thing I do for myself and myself only. I enjoy drawing characters, both original and from other works. There’s something about putting my own spin on characters and bringing them to life in my own style that excites me, as well as creating characters I can call my own. I have never taken a formal art class, since I mostly just do it for fun, but I find myself wondering sometimes if this is something I can pursue in the future, even just as a side hustle, so I’m trying to enroll in some courses so I can improve with the help of professionals. Hopefully, by learning some more about the tools available to me, I can gather some more confidence in my craft.
