Overall, I felt pretty good about my project. I was able to achieve something pretty close to my original vision. I’m most proud of the forest scene; I thought it was my best work animation-wise. The best part were the walk/run cycles, especially the hop cycle for the bunny in the forest scene, since it felt pretty smooth for 15 fps. I was a little frustrated with how much I had to trim down my idea, though. I planned on doing other little scenes, but with Adobe crashing on me, I simply didn’t have time. I also had to simplify my animation and make it a lot more 2D than I wanted. I initially hoped to showcase multiple angles and smoother animations with higher fps, as well as better colored characters and better framing, but I realized I just didn’t have time. In my planning phase, I’d planned three additional scenes taking place under the sea, on top of a train, and in a cave, but I eventually had to narrow it down for the sake of time and brevity. Otherwise, I had a lot of fun with it. Exploring frequent animation trends and timing was super interesting, and I got to test out a few principles of animation that I’d studied but had never put into practice. I also had to work pretty hard on the walk cycles, especially the rabbit. I couldn’t find a tutorial for it, so I had to look up videos of rabbits running/walking and reference that.
