With this one, I went in with the idea of the fantasy adventure from the beginning. I really like storytelling and I especially love dark fantasy, so that was kind of the direction I wanted to take with it. Overall, I’m really happy with and proud of the final result, even if I had to cut it down more than I originally intended. I’m especially proud of how I wrote the descriptions of all the items and clickables, plus all the mysterious little narratives. I was also pretty happy with my gifs and how they turned out, though I ended up making most of them in Animate instead of Photoshop because Photoshop kept crashing out on me. I did want to add a lot more branching paths and clickable elements to each area, plus different endings, but I ended up just running out of time. If I had more time, I probably would’ve expanded it into a full-on point-and-click webventure with different endings and more branching paths, and it also would’ve been fun to figure out how to add sound effects and creepy music for certain scenes and objects. I had a lot of frustration with the gifs, mostly because of two reasons: I either couldn’t get them to loop, or the files were too big for Wix. I had to simplify my gifs a lot more than I wanted, and even take out a lot of elements to get them to fit. Overall though, I’m really happy with the end result.
