With my soundscape, I was thinking I would tell the story of someone coming home after their day’s errands or work, what their nightly routine looks like, and what they might dream about. First, I’d start them off in a crowded place with lots of noise and other people talking, then transition to walking and a car turning on, and maybe some ambient sound to fill driving time. Then, a car turning off and the car door opening and shutting as the person arrives home, followed by footsteps up to the door and the sound of it unlocking and opening. Then, we would hear as the person goes about their nightly routine, feeding their pet, making dinner, showering and brushing their teeth, among other things. Then, after they go to sleep, I was thinking of warping a sound to show them falling asleep and starting to dream, putting reverb on it or something, and from there I could do one of two things. I could try to build a dream from other sounds, a different situation, or I also thought I could play all the sounds from earlier, but in reverse order and sped up, like a movie rewinding, so at the end it all sounds like a cool loop and implies that the person dreamt up their entire afternoon.
